Child Portraits

An artfully and thoughtfully executed photograph of a child can awaken in the viewer feelings of security and vulnerability, joy and grief, playfulness and solemnity, all of an intensity that we may have long forgotten we’re capable of. Children in and of themselves are works of art.

Who said 35mm film is dead?

I have recently purchased one of my all time cheapest cameras, a Rollei 35B. This is a beautiful and portable camera for just under a fiver, you can't beat that. Here are a few samples from the gorgeous little thing.

A Star
02nd September 2011 - 0 comments

A Star – shines, bright, glow in dark, stands out, just amazing, has 5 points, everyone would like to be a star.
I have been looking at this image on my desk of a Koala holding a star and just thought how often do we feel like stars in some things that we really do very well? In my mind I just thought… There is good in everyone, everyone has a potential to be called “you have been a star today”. How often do we tell someone they have been a star? It seems as if kids are the only ones called stars and when they get to a certain age there are called all sorts but not stars. Call someone a star today that deserves it! My recent customers, Tom and Caroline they deserve more than one star. Their wedding was well organised and they were all set to have a happy day, and in deed they had a fabulous wedding, full of laughter and smiles. I enjoyed photographing their wedding.

"Hey Soc, i want you to be the photographer on my wedding" Jason. It's always good when your friends trust you with such a one time occassion photo shoot. Days go so fast and you do not realise that in no time the wedding day is only few days away.

It's also not difficult to see two people who really love each other, all the way Jay and Fadzy (Josy)have supported each other and you can see the love they have for each other on their faces.Congratulations Mr and Mrs Chibvupe. It was an honour and a privelege to photograph your wedding in Hull, UK.

I am not one for staged wedding photography poses, i prefer more of a paparazzi style, so here is just a preview of their wedding photos from my own "point of view". Watch the space as i am going to upload more photos.

I don’t know how to best describe this wedding, all I know is that I and my family witnessed a beautiful day, filled with lovely moments, well organised, good food and happy people. I also met people I hope to stay in touch with for the rest of my life.

.....and a bit of cake to grace the occassion.
